Your Quick Fix!

Photobucket

It's Saturday and you deserve to have a good weekend! Let loose and relax, that is what these days of the week are for right? Well I have put together a quick and fun outfit for you to flaunt around town tonight! This outfit is hot and trendy but still keeps things simple! After all, who likes to always look like they spent hours putting together an outfit just to have a good time? You want it to look like style just comes naturally to you...plus you don't want to ruin your entire night by starting it off stressed by getting impatient with your closet choices! Keep it simple with this beater tank by Michael Stars. This is a fun one because of the sexy surprise you get in the back:-) Tuck it into this vintage inspired Petticoat Skirt by Free People (I love this skirt because you can wear it year round; if its cold just throw on some tights). The ankle booties give this outfit a cute seasonal transitioning touch; adding a little bit of celebrity appeal to the ensemble! Since clear is all the rage this summer, throw on a clear statement necklace; still giving the outfit a summery & fun vibe! Adding a hot pink clutch is an up-to-beat way of throwing in that bit of color you crave to show your fun and bright personality! So make your life easy tonight! Don't stress yourself out running to different stores all day long! Let us help give you that amazing weekend you so deserve!

Look of the Week: Mix and Match!

Don't you just love it when you find a new way to wear something that's already in your closet? I know I do! It's like being able to create a whole new look without having to buy an entire outfit - and the good news is, there are tons of items like this available at McAuley's! When you shop our selection of cute skirts, summery shorts, and trendy tops, you'll be guaranteed to find tons of items you can mix and match! Take this Rhinestone Shine Short Sleeve V Neck by Michael Stars, for instance. Sure, it looks wonderful when paired with a bright, beachy pair of white jeans, but have you ever noticed that it would probably also go great with a Wrap Band Skirt by Envi? And what about this cute, comfy Shine Drape Front Scoop Neck Tank by Michael Stars? Layered over a Dance in Paris Seamless Camisole and a pair of jean capris, it looks both sporty and simple, while a textured pink scarf and a pair of light pants - or our brand new Cut Off Shorts by Joe's Jeans - would be sure to add a bit of pizazz to an already amazing look!

Do-It-Yourself Fashion: Shredded Leggings!

Ripped, slashed, and torn: if celebrity style is any indication, the so-called "grunge look" is back with a vengeance - and it's returning in the form of shredded leggings! Everyone from Dakota Fanning to Lindsay Lohan is cashing in on this totally fierce fashion trend, which has been spotted all over Tinseltown of late. And, while I'm in no rush to run out and get a pair of barely-there leggings like Lady Gaga's, I'll admit that I'm completely taken with this edgy, retro, in-your-face fad! In fact, I'd been shopping around for some shredded leggings of my own for quite some time (and having no luck whatsoever!) when it occurred to me how easy it would be to just make some for myself. After all, how much creativity does one girl really need to rip a couple of holes in her tights? None at all, as I proved when I managed to successfully create my very own pair yesterday! Take a look at how they turned out and tell me what you think - dreadfully tacky or daringly different? - and check out the tips below if you're interested in creating your very own pair of custom-ripped pants!
How to Trash Your Tights
1.) Choose the leggings you want to customize. (Note: Stretchy ones are the best for cutting, but you run the risk of enlarging the holes when they're worn or washed.)
2.) Put the leggings on. It will be easier for you to make your cuts asymmetrical while you're wearing them - plus, you'll be able to see how they'll actually look on you as opposed to in your closet.
3.) Take some scissors (preferably fabric scissors with fairly sharp blades) and make as many cuts as you want, keeping the cuts fairly close together.
4.) Viola! You now have your very own pair of trendy shredded tights! Bet they'll go great with this Tabatha Blouse by Trina Turk or this edgy black-on-black Shine Off Shoulder Top by Michael Stars from McAuley's!

Look Of The Week: White on White

Its a cool & crisp look for those hot summer days...but to keep your appearance from looking stiff and starchy, try to give it a tropical vibe! Bright jewelry, a colored clutch, fun heels...and even a hat for a super summery style! To channel the runway with this trend, stick to loose breathable materials when doing daytime. For a night out on the town with the girls, throw on a more fitted tank and some fun jewelry! So many options for this eye-catching trend! This is our pick for a casual during-the-day outing. Don't have time to go home and change before going to dinner? Your safe! The heels make this perfect for a night out too!

Get This Look Here:

1. Michael Stars Shine Drape Neck Tank ($61.05)

2. Citizens Of Humanity Morrison Slim Boot Cut ($170)

3. Sergio Zelcer Denise Heels in Tan ($138)

4. Thin Blue Bangle Set ($17.50)

See how a few Hollywood celebs do the trend:

A staple piece must-have for your closet!

As far as fashion staples, there are several pieces you will never have to worry about going out of style......straight leg jeans, black and navy blazers, black heels, and the LBD (little black dress).

Oh...and the white t-shirt!

This is one of my favorite basic pieces in the store right now!

This slub cotton top by Michael Stars is made out of one of his best fabrics! It is super soft, and the material lays to the body and doesn't create that super baggy look that most women hate about the "boyfriend" style! You can button this one up or wear it open over a tank or even a cotton dress! The tabbed sleeves can also be worn long! There are so many possibilities when creating an outfit with this fabulous basic! Want a way to wear it to work? Tuck it in a high waisted skirt! Going out on the town? Button it up, put a skinny belt around it, pair it with some fabulous ankle jeans, sexy heels, a clutch, and your ready to party! I love to wear mine with skinnys, wedge heels, and lots of necklaces and bangles! (that was one of my favorite outfits I have worn to McAuley's recently)

Want to look "Hollywood" when you go get your tan on? Throw this top over your swimsuit and only button a few of the middle buttons....you have a cute and trendy cover up!

The white-t can be transformed into whatever your personality or "mood" is for the day! You can literally wear this piece for every season and occasion....except formal of course:-) Every celeb embraces their white-T's...look how they rock theirs!

Look of the Week: My Perfect Easter Dress

This year for Easter, my plans are a bit more formal -- my roommates and I are all celebrating the holiday with family dinner after we finish all of our traditional Easter day activities. I couldn't think of a better dress to fit the occasion than this Trina Turk Ibis Dress in white. I absolutely love the colorful print on the top, and the empire waist is flattering to any figure! For Easter I'm going to dress is down with gold sandals and a cocktail ring, but I've already got this dress in mind for my brother's wedding this summer too! For the wedding, I'll dress it up with metallic heels and matching dangle earrings, and I'll grab a yellow or coral Michael Stars cardigan to take with me in case it gets cold. Between now and then I'm sure I'll get even more use out of this beautiful dress (formal dinners, cocktail parties, dates, etc.), but for now I can rest assured that I have added a staple item in my wardrobe to last me through summer!

Happy Easter everyone!

Fashion Fix for the Fall Semester!

Hey there all you McAuley Girls!

So, it's about that time again...Time to dust off that backpack and get to work!! (Or at least give your parents the impression...) When I go out in college towns, I am so impressed by how adorable the young ladies look for a night with friends...so why is it that they take no time to look nice for classes the next day?? I totally understand not having time for makeup or hair, but is the baggy old t-shirt and gym shorts look necessary?? A cute par of jeans and a FITTED tank or top is just as easy to throw on, and gives off a much more dignified impression. You may think it sounds crazy, but believe me your professors and fellow students will notice. Need an extension on that art history paper? Looking like a disheveled mess will certainly not help your case! Casual tops and great jeans will give you the relaxed and self-assured look all MGs (McAuley Girls) deserve. Come down to the store and we'll have you styled for school in no time!

love always,
Hayley

Here are just a few of our new arrivals that are perfect for keeping you comfortable AND looking great at the same time:
