Today Show - Dancing Wedding Party
I'm sure most of you have already seen the video of the dancing wedding party, but this morning on The Today Show, I noticed that the bride was wearing Free People's Aletha Tube Dress. Even though we've sold out of it, I figured it was a good enough excuse to post the video. :) If you haven't seen it yet, enjoy!

'Tis the season...
FOR WEDDINGS!
Hey girls! So, as I'm sure you've all noticed, wedding invitations have been arriving almost as often as those McAuley's facebook notifications ;) Well, what in the world are you going to wear?! That skimpy little number you wore last night? Negative. Your new pair of 7 for All Mankind jeans? No way. Your favorite white summer dress? Not unless you want the bride to strangle you with her garter. Wedding not-for-the-bridal-party dresses can be a tricky find for the average gal...you have to walk the line between stylish, fun, and above all-tasteful.
Here are a few tips for finding the dress that will prove fashionable and fitting:
1. Avoiding all shades of white/cream is a must. Personally, I try to stay away from black as much as possible-better safe than sorry. The last thing you want to remind a nervous bridegroom of is funerals!

2. Leave the lycra at home. No one wants Peggy Bundy as the guest of honor at their wedding.
3. It's always better to be overdressed, rather than underdressed. If you're worried about the dressiness of the occasion, opt for the more formal look. That way, you'll only improve the scenery!
4. Pay very close attention to the time, date, and location of the nuptials!! There is nothing worse than seeing a beautiful sleeved dress soaked in sweat because someone missed the fact that the wedding was taking place outside at 2:00-in the middle of July!
And lastly...
5. Leave that big bulky purse at home!! Do yourself a favor and invest in a small stylish clutch, preferably in a versatile metallic shade. This will save you and everyone else the embarrassment of whopping people with your purse on the dance floor!
I hope these tips help make your selection easier and improve your wedding guest experience! Weddings are a time of love and laughter (and blissful relief after months of planning), so soak up every second!
And of course, McAuley's is always here to help :)

Sale Re-Cap!
Hey Hey!
Whew...what a week the girls at McAuley's have experienced! We hosted our Blowout Tent Sale this past weekend and it sure was fun! Our girls and our customers braved the 90+ temperatures all in the name of great fashion and even better prices! We started preparing for the sale weeks in advance, and thank goodness we did! It was our biggest one yet, with Friday being our busiest day ever. It was a madhouse from open 'til close! If you were able to make it- thank you so much! Your support did not go unnoticed! If you weren't able to stop by, don't worry! Time has not yet run out to find some fantastic sale items! We still have some great designs at unbelievable prices! In particular, there are some incredible Nanette Lepore pieces for up to 75% off! I know! It's mind-blowing! At these costs, it would be smart to stop by even if you did make it to the sale! You never know what you may have missed :)
So, moral of the story is that you should come to McAuley's. Today. Seriously, are you on your way yet??
xoxo,
Hales

Hey Everybody!
I've been meaning to introduce myself for the past few weeks...please excuse my manners! My name is Hayley and I am a new employee here at McAuley's. Even though I am new to the boutique, I am by no means new to the fashion world. I worked at an upscale boutique in downtown Charleston for three years during college and then worked in fashion public relations in NYC for a year. I had amazing experiences throughout these years including, but not limited to, Charleston Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week. Nothing compares to when the music starts thumping and the lights go down at these events! I am currently stationed back in my hometown (Anderson, SC!) while I study for graduate school and have had the luck to land a position at what is, in my opinion, the most fabulous boutique in the area. I hope ya'll will welcome me with open arms and let me help you with any of your fashion needs!
Until next time!
