Fall's Hottest Shoe

So, whats the hottest new trend for footwear this fall/winter? Well, the look is an even combo of two somewhat different styles...biker chic & versatile vintage! Yes, its that boot we feel like we have seen throughout the timeline, but always making a comeback with a little twist thrown in. The great thing about this trend is that no matter if you have an old pair of what some fashion experts refer to as "Grandma Boots", or the latest lace-up ankle boot style (that has that twist of biker appeal)....ALL are still game! The oldies are just considered vintage:-)

Photobucket
Peep toe, wedge, flat soled, heeled...you have SO MANY options when it comes to making a piece of this trend more fitted for your personality (the ones with the folded down flaps are my personal favorite)! If you have more of a funky and daring style...go for the ones that have a touch of the biker look. If you like to be trendy, but your wardrobe rarely ever resembles "funky", pick a pair with a more victorian influence!

Now, the next concern of yours may be...how do I pull this look off without appearing like I'm trying to give Lady GaGa a run for her money? Look at how the stars do it...

Whether it's with dresses, rompers, skirts, or denim, these style marking shoes can be worn in every season! If your pair is suede...who cares! Throw them on with a romper & crop blazer like Kim Kardashian or with a fun summer dress like Sienna Miller! If your style preference is the flat lace ups, you can wear them with anything as well! McAuley's has so many great things in right now to pair these boots up with that will take you from now into the fall! Here are some of my favorite picks for the fab boots!

Photobucket

This Envi romper is one of my favorites! It has so many great colors intertwined throughout the fabric, you literally could wear any of the base colored shoes! Tans, blacks, browns, taupes, olives...they are all great with this! What makes it even better? Throw a cropped denim jacket over it (or almost any color leather) and you have a PERFECT transitional outfit for fall!

You can always rely on the distressed denim & a classy cropped blazer to flow with the trend! Any style boot with this outfit is fair game (although I would stick to the ankle height, you don't want a very high mid-boot with the capri length). However, replace these capris with skinny's, and you are good to go with any style boot! Just tuck the jean down in the shoe or bunch it up (it's ok if its messy) at the tip-top of the shoe!

The LBD is a super easy way to pull off the trend! Any boot style is sure to be a perfect match with the little black dress! Throw a colored boot in, like tan, taupe, or olive to give the solid piece a little pop, or do it with black lace ups (for more funk appeal, do a black lace up that has a biker inspired touch)! The Secret Agent dress by Nanette Lepore is a PERFECT look for this trend, because the fit still gives the dress a more "sweet" look, which is always fun (and a little "good girl gone bad") when your going to throw in a funky and sexy shoe! Throw a jacket over this girl for the fall and your good to go!

Look of the Week!

Photobucket

Our trendy look of the week....Secretary Chic! This sexy, yet sophisticated style, is a sure bet for that important business dinner or party, day at the office, or even a dinner out with friends! A high waisted skirt is a winning way to accent the most slimming part of your bod, while feeling sexy in your trendy lace up boots and chic & savvy shoulder bag! If your more "blessed" around the hips, or even not "blessed" enough, this look is for you! Accentuating the waist will take away from the size of your thighs, and if your super slim, this look will also give you a little more "curve"! Crazy how it flatters polar opposite sizes huh? Throwing a blazer over the top gives it a little more of a "working woman" appeal. Meeting your man after work for dinner with no time to change? Ditch the blazer so you now have on a short sleeve or sleeveless top underneath. Throw on a long pearl necklace and a bling ring...now your ready & looking sexy!

DON'T MISS THIS!

If you missed our July tent sale.....no worries! Starting yesterday through July 31st, you can use the same sale discounts that were offered on the regularly priced merchandise, as well as shopping through all sale items that were under the tent that day! We have rolled the racks back out and they are in the store as we speak! How many boutiques will mark pieces all the way up to 80% off? Not many, so take advantage of this! We have had so many requests from customers that were out of town. We have never offered this before, so make sure you don't miss out!

I thought I would share with you a few of my FAVORITE things that were put on sale...maybe this will give you a little taste of what GREAT deals you can get, as well as trendy and stylish pieces to spice up your closet selection!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this zipper dress by Sweetees! All of Sweetees pieces are made with a great jersey fabric which washes well and lasts. The fabric is super soft and super comfy! This girl is super unique because you can actually USE the zippers on this dress! Unzip the zipper around the neck, and you are left with a sleeveless dress that can change the occasion and the season! The top piece comes off as a bolero that can be worn with a tank and jeans!

Another one of my favs...plus....insanely inexpensive for a high end designer! This strapless zipper front dress can be worn for a night wedding, New Years event, holiday party, Vegas trip....or even a good going out dress in the cooler season! How do you make this metal scrunch cocktail dress "OK" enough for going out without looking overdressed? Throw a black blazer over it (short or long), a leather jacket, or a cropped moto-style jacket, tights, and booties or over-the-knee boots...and you have a cute and sassy "night on the town" ensemble!

Photobucket

I am defiantly a jeans girl! Not only that, but True Religion is my favorite denim line! I own these myself, and I didn't get them at this kind of price....the sale price is a STEAL! Distressed denim is everywhere and this pair is cute, unique, comfy, and not overdone! Whether its a cute fitted top and heels for a night out, or a snug tee with boots or flops, your sure to feel stylish and trendy with whatever you decide to pair these hot "holey" bottoms with!

Take your fav summer dresses into fall!

Ever wish you could get more than a season out of some of your favorite summer dresses? Well, with the trends becoming more "out of the box", and America actually beginning to follow, it is much easier to take your summer picks and roll them forward into fall!

How to do your favorite printed summer dress:

Get this look:

Tabitha Dress by Liquid

Denim Jacket by Joe's Jeans

Flipsy bootie by Paris Hilton

With denim jackets making a strong comeback, it allows such ease when taking those cute summer favorites into fall! Throwing a bootie with this girl allows for a more "transitional" look into the cooler season. Because of the brighter color in this one, you want to make sure to steer clear from heavy winter pieces and deep color tones to prevent a look that screams "I'm trying too hard to keep wearing my summer clothing". Keeping the shoe lighter & shorter allows for a look that appears very put together and creative. It works!

Here is another way to "fall up" another summer fav:

Get this look:

Blue strapless floral dress by our Junior Line

Cream Single Button Blazer by our Junior Line

Willis Leather Ankle Boots by Blowfish

Ahh the cream blazer...such an easy yet classic piece. You can use this single jacket to make so many looks from "city chic" to "the classy equestrian woman". Throw this number over a printed dress like we have above & a pair of ankle boots, or pumps, and you have a very trendy and transitional outfit out of your summer fav. Also, pair this blazer with your favorite black shorts, patterned tank, and booties for a cute fall fashion for your fav summer bottoms! So many options & ways to wear your favorite summer dresses for TWO seasons!

*Make sure the dress has a few earth tones intertwined, if it is a floral print, to prevent your outfit from having that "trying to hard to make my summer pieces work" look like we were talking abut earlier!

Studs & Sparkle Alert!

What's hot for now AND this upcoming fall season? Studs & sparkle! The glitz and glam did get put on the trend backburner for a few seasons, but it is hot & heavy again! It started making its comeback this past fall...and now....its taking over the fashion world for SUMMER AND WINTER! The red carpet has been overloaded with the studs and sparkle recently & the fashion runways for fall overflowed with loud, vibrant, and beautiful blinding pieces!

The great thing about this trend is that most pieces you buy now, you can take into fall and holiday as well! Getting 2 seasons out of one piece/trend is a very smart style choice (as far as budgeting goes)! McAuley's LOVES fashion statements made with loud and shiny pieces! The studs & sparkle has ALWAYS been our favorite, probably because it is the trend closest to our "personal" personalities:-). Check out a few of our pieces in the store that would be PERFECT picks! We will have this kind of stuff coming in all fall as well!

This amazing dress by French Connection is brand new! It is not on our website yet so if you love it, e-mail us and we will get you the info and sizing on it! This amazing double lined, linen dress, has the most beautiful beading and sequin detail EVER! The color is more close to an off white than a pure white, which makes it PERFECT for now...or the best holiday party dress ever!

This is another amazingly beautiful new dress from French Connection! It is also a cream color, not white as it appears. It has beautiful studs that cover it, front and back! The sequin detail at the neckline is stylish and unique, and the shorter length and more snug fit make it a fun and sexy piece! This is my personal pick for this New Year's Eve! (It reminds me so much of Kim Kardashian!) This one isn't on our site yet either, so if you love...let us know!

This strapless red corset dress, by Jovani, is perfect for a cocktail or formal occasion! The sparkle and lace detail makes it extremely unique and trendy...not to mention the red hot color that men seem to LOVE!

This Night Dress, by Nanette Lepore, is an employee fav! With the "two-piece" effect, this dress can be pulled off with pumps (and tights if in cooler weather) for a fun night out, or with strappy heels for a cocktail event! Throw a blue jean or leather jacket over this girl for a fun and casual night out with the girls!

A Designer Look for Less!

The romper is one of spring and summer's hottest and most versatile trends! With the right color scheme and style, a romper can be used for anything from casual cookouts to night weddings! The designer one piece, by Sunner, is a perfect example of a versatile one-z! The higher rise of the "short" and the ruffle neck halter allow this to be cute and casual with flats, or nice nighttime with platform heels! You can get this designer look for less with our Cream Ruffle Front Romper by our Junior Line at $109.98, in comparison to the Sunner's Florent Romper for $273! The bow ties both in the back, front, and sides to allow for a more dressy or "cutsey" appearance. This style is going fast, so snatch up your size while we still have it!

Lovin' summer store changes!

Bright colors, fun displays, & bold trends are just a few reasons why I love summer store changes! For those of you who haven't been following very long, we do a store change at McAuley's once a month. We take everything off the racks and make completely new outfits & displays! Summer store changes allow us to let our imagination run wild. At the end of the day, and many hours later, you can stand back and look at a beautiful array of color and design that give each of us a pleased smile as we all pat one another on our backs:-)

TEAL & ORANGE! 2 hot colors for summer as well as transition pieces into fall! The colors look so fresh together, making the rack we created look happy and inviting!

(Don't forget that Clemson season will be approaching before you know it!)

We LOVE using peacock accents around the store...can you tell? Bright colors thrown in with greys make for a great summer look as well as fall! Its so easy to transition your pieces to get 2 seasons worth out of them! Maybe more!

Dressing mannequins allows each employee to express their own personal style throughout the store! Shoppers are bound to see an outfit, all put together, that expresses their fashion choice! Themed mannequins are our new favorite way to display!

Come in and see our new merchandise
and freshly "put together" pieces!

Your summer and transition wardrobe is ready for you!

Look Of The Week: White on White

Its a cool & crisp look for those hot summer days...but to keep your appearance from looking stiff and starchy, try to give it a tropical vibe! Bright jewelry, a colored clutch, fun heels...and even a hat for a super summery style! To channel the runway with this trend, stick to loose breathable materials when doing daytime. For a night out on the town with the girls, throw on a more fitted tank and some fun jewelry! So many options for this eye-catching trend! This is our pick for a casual during-the-day outing. Don't have time to go home and change before going to dinner? Your safe! The heels make this perfect for a night out too!

The Carrie Craze!

Sex and the City 2 hit the big screen yesterday! I don't know about you, but I have always looked at Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), as a "fashion icon". Her vogue appeal is always on time and never a miss! She can perfect a super chic and sweet attire, and can also blow a bright and sparkling outfit out of the fashion park! Being a definite "trend setter", her daring appearance always lands her in fashion magazines declaring things a "New Carrie Trend"! Before you know it, they are making shoes, clothes, and accessories to imitate her "look"! I stem some of my ensembles from her super savvy style....what girl wouldn't! These are my favorite pieces in the store right now that can give you that "VERY CARRIE" vibe!

The Daphne top and Louise skirt by Eva Franco definately give off a Sex and the City style! The color is a beautiful neutral khaki with light gold thread weaved into the material. When worn together, the two pieces resemble one. Put a cute flower pin at the upper shoulder of the top, and you have a Carrie Craze Couture look! Want more ways to wear the two pieces? This top goes great with dark denim, a cream pair of shorts or skirt, and looks great with black bottoms! With the skirt, add a cute short sleeve cotton top to dress it down & pair it with some cute wedges! (throw a tucked in button-up for a more business appeal or a silk-like top for more cocktail)

This beautiful cream dress by Ark & Co. screams CARRIE BRADSHAW! She loves cutesy dresses belted at the waist! Pair this dress with a great pair of chunky black heels and you have one of Carrie's more conservative sexy looks!

Both of these amazing dresses from Trina Turk scream Carrie's flashy side, especially in the new Sex and the City! The Column long dress ,with a flowing bottom and embroidered neckline, giving it a simple, yet sexy feel. The Bizet Dress is a beautiful eye catching piece. With feminine ruffling down the front, it creates that sexy and sweet look that Carrie loves so much! The elastic waist gives it an amazing shape, and the fitted skirt compliments the more forgiving top; a sure Carrie Crave!
