New Arrivals!

We got in lots of new arrivals today! Unfortunately, we were a little short-staffed, so we didn't get to take pictures of everything on one of our employees yet. We've got a few new arrivals that will be posted to facebook tonight, but in the meantime, here are some of the items we didn't have a chance to photograph yet!


Just because this new dress from Envi has a little purple & orange in it doesn't mean that it has to be reserved for gamedays AT ALL! It's great for just about anything and can be dressed up or down. Here, we've shown it on our mannequin with our basic orange belt, but it comes with a sash of its own if you're not into belts.


Here's another dress from Envi... This one is a faux wrap style in a blue & grey leopard print that's very versatile.


You'll get to see how adorable this Sao Paulo skirt is tomorrow when we take a picture of it on Jennifer (She's Miss Aiken SC USA and will be competing in the Miss SC USA pageant next month -- click her name and you'll be taken to her facebook page).

Don't worry Clemson fans, we didn't forget about you!

Hot Colors for Fall 2011 !

When fall comes around every year, we sometimes tend to think of boring, bland colors and aren't quite sure how to spruce up our fall wardrobe in a fun yet versatile way. Lucky for us Clemson girls, shades of orange and purple are among some of the hottest colors for this season! Burnt orange and eggplant are really going to be big!

My favorite new picks!

There are so many things at the store right now that are my "newest" favs! Today is Saturday, the weather is a little dull outside, so why not surf the internet and make my new wishlist? Today is going to be short and sweet, getting straight to the point with what has made my heart rate elevate this a.m. Now, I just have to ask the boyfriend to make my wishlist come true:-)

I love this winged tee! The sequin applique on the front gives it a cool and edgy vibe! I just got a really cool jacket by Threads for Thought from the store, it's kind of like a cotton moto jacket, and it would look so cute over this tee!

Can you tell that French Connection is one of my favorite lines? I love this cute sweater! It's really light weight, so its perfect for light fall & transitioning spring weather! The button-up back gives it more of an urban feel, while the front seems so innocent and sweet;-)I love anything with funky & surprising designs on them!

I have been waiting for these amazing jeans to come in!! This may be my most favorite pair EVER! Which, if you know me, I live for jeans so that is a major statement! Their phantom skinny is an ankle length jean, but they hit me right above my foot...so perfect length with no alterations! The semi-distressed & faded wash is so hot! I am in LOVE with this denim! IN LOVE!

I LOVE this new Envi dress! Their prints are always unique! I love the fit of this one; with the fitted bottom, you can make this a casual dress with boots or hot with heels! The print makes it perfect for a Clemson game, but its not to "Clemson inspired" where you couldn't wear it to anything but Death Valley!

Fall's Hottest Shoe

So, whats the hottest new trend for footwear this fall/winter? Well, the look is an even combo of two somewhat different styles...biker chic & versatile vintage! Yes, its that boot we feel like we have seen throughout the timeline, but always making a comeback with a little twist thrown in. The great thing about this trend is that no matter if you have an old pair of what some fashion experts refer to as "Grandma Boots", or the latest lace-up ankle boot style (that has that twist of biker appeal)....ALL are still game! The oldies are just considered vintage:-)

Peep toe, wedge, flat soled, heeled...you have SO MANY options when it comes to making a piece of this trend more fitted for your personality (the ones with the folded down flaps are my personal favorite)! If you have more of a funky and daring style...go for the ones that have a touch of the biker look. If you like to be trendy, but your wardrobe rarely ever resembles "funky", pick a pair with a more victorian influence!

Now, the next concern of yours may be...how do I pull this look off without appearing like I'm trying to give Lady GaGa a run for her money? Look at how the stars do it...

Whether it's with dresses, rompers, skirts, or denim, these style marking shoes can be worn in every season! If your pair is suede...who cares! Throw them on with a romper & crop blazer like Kim Kardashian or with a fun summer dress like Sienna Miller! If your style preference is the flat lace ups, you can wear them with anything as well! McAuley's has so many great things in right now to pair these boots up with that will take you from now into the fall! Here are some of my favorite picks for the fab boots!

This Envi romper is one of my favorites! It has so many great colors intertwined throughout the fabric, you literally could wear any of the base colored shoes! Tans, blacks, browns, taupes, olives...they are all great with this! What makes it even better? Throw a cropped denim jacket over it (or almost any color leather) and you have a PERFECT transitional outfit for fall!

You can always rely on the distressed denim & a classy cropped blazer to flow with the trend! Any style boot with this outfit is fair game (although I would stick to the ankle height, you don't want a very high mid-boot with the capri length). However, replace these capris with skinny's, and you are good to go with any style boot! Just tuck the jean down in the shoe or bunch it up (it's ok if its messy) at the tip-top of the shoe!

The LBD is a super easy way to pull off the trend! Any boot style is sure to be a perfect match with the little black dress! Throw a colored boot in, like tan, taupe, or olive to give the solid piece a little pop, or do it with black lace ups (for more funk appeal, do a black lace up that has a biker inspired touch)! The Secret Agent dress by Nanette Lepore is a PERFECT look for this trend, because the fit still gives the dress a more "sweet" look, which is always fun (and a little "good girl gone bad") when your going to throw in a funky and sexy shoe! Throw a jacket over this girl for the fall and your good to go!

Look of the Week: Mix and Match!

Don't you just love it when you find a new way to wear something that's already in your closet? I know I do! It's like being able to create a whole new look without having to buy an entire outfit - and the good news is, there are tons of items like this available at McAuley's! Want to know what my absolute favorite thing about summer is? The fact that it's a great excuse to bust out all those cute swimsuits that have been hiding at the bottom of my dresser drawer since last fall! Whether I'm headed for a week-long vacation at the beach or looking forward to a day on the lake, I still want to look my best, so I always spend ages picking out which ones to wear. Summer is finally here, so it's time to break out those cute, sassy sundresses that have been hiding at the back of your closet since the beginning of last fall! In Store Photo Shoot

Our many customers living outside our local area who can't make it by the store probably can't even begin to imagine what our store looks like. Well, here's a little secret: it's way smaller than you think! Anderson is just a tiny town, and we're a little boutique trying to make it in the great big world of cyber space. That being the case, I thought it would be nice to share with you a few photos from a recent shoot that took place inside our store.

A little over a week ago, when plans for another location fell through at the last minute, Jake was forced to make due with the space available in the store -- during business hours! What I really expected to be a complete catastrophe actually resulted in some beautiful photos. And even if you have been in the store, it would be tough to notice that the pictures were taken there if you didn't already know! Obviously, it doesn't hurt that we were blessed with Judith & Midori, who are both beautiful and experienced models.

So, here they are:

Judith, wearing a sexy little red keyhole tuck dress by Nicole Miller. If you want this one, you better shop fast because we've only got one left, in a size 2. In case you're interested, this little couch is located in our shoe & tank room.


Here's Judith again in the same red dress, accompanied by Midori wearing a curve-hugging animal print tuck dress by Nicole Miller. This one was also seen on "Ugly Betty" last fall, worn by Betty's sister Hilda.


Ahh, another Nicole Miller. This Tahiti Silk Jersey Dress is our latest arrival from Nicole Miller.


Here they are in our "dressy room", where all of our formals and cocktail dresses are showcased in their own room with a sparkling silver brick wall. These are two of the latest arrivals from our junior line. Midori's yellow leopard printed dress is ideal for the more brazen beauty, unafraid of a little color and a safari-inspired print. Judith's bubble dress on the left is no a little shorter and no less sexy.


Last, but not least..... In this photo, Midori is wearing a gorgeous watercolor print maxi dress by Envi. This dress is definitely an employee favorite. Judith is wearing Free People's Gingham & Lace Dress in royal blue.
