Studs & Sparkle Alert!

What's hot for now AND this upcoming fall season? Studs & sparkle! The glitz and glam did get put on the trend backburner for a few seasons, but it is hot & heavy again! It started making its comeback this past fall...and now....its taking over the fashion world for SUMMER AND WINTER! The red carpet has been overloaded with the studs and sparkle recently & the fashion runways for fall overflowed with loud, vibrant, and beautiful blinding pieces!

The great thing about this trend is that most pieces you buy now, you can take into fall and holiday as well! Getting 2 seasons out of one piece/trend is a very smart style choice (as far as budgeting goes)! McAuley's LOVES fashion statements made with loud and shiny pieces! The studs & sparkle has ALWAYS been our favorite, probably because it is the trend closest to our "personal" personalities:-). Check out a few of our pieces in the store that would be PERFECT picks! We will have this kind of stuff coming in all fall as well!

This amazing dress by French Connection is brand new! It is not on our website yet so if you love it, e-mail us and we will get you the info and sizing on it! This amazing double lined, linen dress, has the most beautiful beading and sequin detail EVER! The color is more close to an off white than a pure white, which makes it PERFECT for now...or the best holiday party dress ever!

This is another amazingly beautiful new dress from French Connection! It is also a cream color, not white as it appears. It has beautiful studs that cover it, front and back! The sequin detail at the neckline is stylish and unique, and the shorter length and more snug fit make it a fun and sexy piece! This is my personal pick for this New Year's Eve! (It reminds me so much of Kim Kardashian!) This one isn't on our site yet either, so if you love...let us know!

This strapless red corset dress, by Jovani, is perfect for a cocktail or formal occasion! The sparkle and lace detail makes it extremely unique and trendy...not to mention the red hot color that men seem to LOVE!

This Night Dress, by Nanette Lepore, is an employee fav! With the "two-piece" effect, this dress can be pulled off with pumps (and tights if in cooler weather) for a fun night out, or with strappy heels for a cocktail event! Throw a blue jean or leather jacket over this girl for a fun and casual night out with the girls!

Be a Beach Bound Beauty!

Ok, so I'm in the middle of packing for the beach (I leave Wednesday) and thought I would share with some of you beauty bloggers a few of my "newest fashion favs" that I have gotten from the store to take with me:-) The destination is Charleston and the reason is for fun (with the exception of a little work that will be done by my boyfriend who is in the exciting insurance business). This calls for the following clothing categories...fun and flashy, beachy and casual chic, and semi business-worthy for the insurance seminar & meeting I will be demanded to attend:-)

Here are some of my newest fashion fav's to keep me from being a beaching blunder!

First of all, I LOVE Joyous and Free! Their clothing is so comfy and they always do the best job of taking a more basic piece and twisting it into a unique style! This orange/coral shade I love, especially with a sun kissed skin tone! The matted gold detail along the bust is perfect for shoe matching! I am pairing this with my new brown and gold heels and wearing this out! You always seem to have so much more fun when you feel "fashion flirty"! One of my favorite things about the LuLu dress is that if our night looks like it is going to take a more "low-key route", I'll just throw on my gold flops; no stress at picking out a new dress...whew(you can do this with almost all of Joyous and Free's dresses)!

This is my plan for the seminar or the meeting I must attend. I just had to throw in a little pizzazz with the awesome flower zipper belt! The style and fit of this dress, by our junior line, is a more conservative and classy fit, but the shortness of it makes it a little more fun and trendy for my age! I have had this pair of Naughty Monkey heels since last summer and I LOVE them! If we have your size in them, you better snatch them up because they are a steal of a deal right now! (I also have a mustard belt & a coral one I would like to pair with this dress for a more fun occation that may roll around. I love pops of color with grey!)

This is one of my casual chic Charleston outfits; a mixture of relaxation and education with a splash of sophistication.Ben shorts by Trina Turk and my "Devil May Care" top by Nanette Lepore! With some gold flops and cute pearl and gold bangles, I'm ready for a day of fun in the downtown shops! I have put my "Devil May Care" top with skinny jeans and heels too! I rolled my skinnys up at the bottom (a cuff of only about an inch to 1 1/2 inches, don't get it too thick), and threw in a clutch and I felt very classy and trendy! My shorts I have also put with a black cotton tank and some black flops! So many options for both of these very neutral colored pieces! Mix and match away ladies! These two are fun!

Look of the Week: Summery Shorts!

It's that time of the year again! You know - the time of the year when temperatures soar to seventy degrees and above, and all you want to do is lay out at the beach or the lake (or even in your own backyard!) in the hope of catching some of that delicious summer sun. A glass of lemonade, a good gossip magazine... and of course, a pair of sexy, summery shorts from McAuley's are sure to make this season the hottest summer yet! Why suffer a slow bake in a pair of long pants when you could achieve the perfect summer sizzle in any of the items pictured below? Take a look:

Items pictured above: Zoom Shorts in Guava by Trina Turk, Clayton Short in Black by Trina Turk, Ricardo Shorts in Poppy by Trina Turk, Cece Shorts by Trina Turk, Sagamore Short by Nanette Lepore (also available in Navy.) (Click the picture to view the item's details!)

Celebrity Style Steal!

Unless you're living under a rock these days, you've probably noticed the "no pants" trend that's recently been taking the fashion world by storm. Wherever you are - at the mall, at a restaurant, out on the town - it can't have escaped your notice that people are ditching shorts and jeans in favor of long shirts and leggings. And why not? I know I'm a huge fan of an outfit that combines comfort with just the right amount of sex appeal, like the one pictured above on Vanessa Hudgens! Sometimes when I just don't feel like piling on tank tops and shirts and jackets for that cute (but complicated!) layered look, I'll just throw on something similarly stylish and simple, like this Nanette Lepore Charlotte Shirt Dress from McAuley's. Paired with a braided brown belt and some cute gladiator shoes, this look can instantly go from casual to glam - something every girl should love to have in her closet, since we all have days when we just don't feel like dressing up!

Look of the Week: Florals!

Time to box up those boring blacks and browns and stick those snow boots in the closet! The weather outside is getting warmer, and there's no better way to celebrate than with a flirty floral print. So, whether you're soaking up the sun at the beach or hitting the racks at the mall, you can rest assured that your fashionable, flower-inspired look will be anything but last season! Be sure to check out these cute, colorful florals from McAuley's!

Look of the Week: Rompers!

Why settle for just "looking good" this summer? Sure, dresses and skirts are incredibly cute, but if you really want to stand out, you should try something that's fashion-forward and totally fun - rompers! Featured in the Spring 2009 collections of Marc Jacobs, Max Azria, and the like, it's easy to see why these flirty one-piece playsuits are poised to become this season's hottest new trend. Celebrities like Kourtney Kardashian and Beyoncé were quick to catch on, but it's not too late to steal a couple of seconds in the spotlight with your own summer-inspired outfit! Be sure to check out these gorgeous rompers from McAuley's before it's too late!

Easter is just around the corner!

Easter is just around the corner, and we've put together some fresh spring looks that we can't wait to share!

If you’re looking for a more easy-going ensemble, try a skirt and blouse like this yellow top with ruffle collar from our junior line and this white pencil skirt by Milly.

Here is the Wellesley dress by Trina Turk paired with a green tie front cardigan from our junior line. With some artful twisting and tucking, the cardigan transforms into a fitted shrug—perfect for covering the shoulders without obscuring the line of the dress.

The soft, sheer ruffles of this one-shoulder top from our junior line look great with a sleek pencil skirt like Nanette Lepore’s High Style skirt. We’ve added a splash of color and pulled the look together with a wide stretch belt

There are lots of beautiful strapless dresses available this spring, but for some occasions (especially Easter) you may want to be a little more covered up. When choosing a shrug or cardigan to go over a dress, make sure it’s one that enhances the look of the dress rather than taking away from it. We think our white crochet shrug is a perfect match for the Ania dress by Sweetees.

The Larkspur sheath in Seafoam by Nanette Lepore is a beautiful standalone piece. Perfect for an Easter celebration, this dress would also be beautiful for spring and summer weddings.

Also by Nanette Lepore, the In the Wild dress in Seafoam has a unique faux-wrap style with pleat detail in the front. The rich silk/linen fabric content makes this dress appropriate for dressing up or dressing down.

Our favorite dresses for Carolina Cup!

Carolina Cup is coming soon... next weekend, in fact. Do you have your dress yet? If not, we've got some great choices for you here at McAuley's, and we can help you with your shoes, bag, and other acessories as well! Here we've chosen a few of our favorites to give you an idea of what our selection is like. Keep in mind that this isn't all we have to offer, and don't forget that we register every girl for each event, so you won't see anyone else in your dress!

You'll look simply smashing in hot pink strapless dress by Molly B. Pair it with some bold, colorful accessories and you’re off to the races! Also pictured is the Willy shoe in gold by Sergio Zelcer.

We know you’ll turn some heads in this short strapless number from our junior line. This dress looks great with chunky beads and high heels for a spring event or with a pair of flip flops and a large canvas tote for a day at the beach.

With clean lines, a classic nautical color scheme, and crisp pique fabric, the Seagull dress by Trina Turk is the perfect look for the sophisticated lady this spring. For a dress like this, we recommend keeping the accessories simple—a pair of elegant chandelier earrings is all you need.

A simple, great fitting shift is appropriate for almost any event. We especially like the Nice Girl dress by Nanette Lepore because it has an adorable bow detail and it’s in one of the hottest colors of the season—yellow!

Too cute! This green and yellow embroidered dress from our junior line is one of our favorites this season. From its narrow embellished straps to its lightweight gathered skirt, this dress is sure to keep you fresh as a daisy.
